Miele Sonic

Winning concept design for Miele, 'Kitchen of the Future'. -  NCAD 2006

Miele Sonic is an ultrasonic clothing washer/dryer system designed to solve major problems caused by standard rotary drum machines.  It uses less energy, less water, less space and is kind to fabrics.

The user simply places laundry into the specially designed hanger & closes drawer. The machine fills with water. Two ultrasonic plates gently but thoroughly transfer vibrations removing dirt particles from fabrics.  When the machine drains it acts as a vacuum removing moisture from the garments. This leaves garments washed, dried, ironed & ready for wear.
